Yr Hen Farcdy, Llandecwyn, Harlech, Gwynedd, LL47 6YG

outside view of house

If you’re looking for a traditional B&B you probably won’t be comfortable staying with us. We have recently renovated the farmhouse called Yr Hen Farcdy (The Old Tannery) and have opted for a simplicity some will find austere – no chintz, no frills, and no net curtains (well, just one on a back landing that masks the gas bottles).

The two letting bedrooms were too small to squeeze in en-suites, so they share a shower room and WC… that will put many people off, though we try to ‘sell’ this as an environmentally friendly attribute. We don’t have a separate visitors’ lounge either – downstairs we have a big kitchen and an even bigger lounge (with an oak floor, leather sofas and a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings) so you become our ‘houseguests’ sharing the space with us… I guess that just lost us some more potential visitors.

Oh, we have two dogs too. Nel and Ngwasi (Wash) live in one of the sheds and don’t often come into the house, but they love people so you’re likely to get licked!
